STUFF WE LEARN IN THIS EPISODE
“When Should You Trust Your Gut? Here’s What the Science Says: Without the answer, you can’t be an effective decision maker.” by Al Pittampalli in Startup Grind
The Terminator had advanced A.I. sensory capabilities, but we may not be as far away from it as we think! We’re constantly scanning our environments so our brains can categorize information that we can use in making decisions.
What kind of information are we gathering?
We don’t get this information visually, but more often as a gut feeling. Intuition comes from pattern matching. Our past experiences and habits play a strong part in our non-conscious brain.
“Conditions for Intuitive Expertise” by Daniel Khanemen, Gary Klein
Can we trust our intuition? It is often misleading and dangerous so we need to stay aware. In order to trust our intuition we must practice applying what our intuititon is telling us. It is only as good as the data base of patterns we draw from.
Deliberate practice isn’t just rote repetition. It involves constant adjustment based on feedback. Get familiar with fractionated expertise.
