What do your mornings look like?  Everyone has a morning routine, the question is whether or not it is a good one.  Most people report that their mornings are scattered, crazy, busy and constantly fight to make it to work on time.  Dr. Bray is going to get your day started off right with information on how to create your best morning routine.

A: Science has found that it’s not the vacation, it’s the anticipation of the vacation that brings you joy throughout the year. I’m a fan of taking at least one seven day vacation. You’ll come back rested and ready to work! Plan it 3-6 months out, which gives you something to look forward to.

How do you get in the right mindset for the day? Your morning routine depends a lot on how you go to bed.

How Should You Go to Bed to Gain an Abundance Mindset? 

  • 30-60 minutes before bed turn off any/all electronic screens. Allow your brain to slide into sleep.
  • Do not check social media or email within 60 minutes of going to bed. Spend time connecting with people you love.
  • Write in a journal. You may roll your eyes, but writing down a couple tidbits of information releases stress from the brain.
  • Spend 5-10 minutes thinking of 1-2 issues that you are dealing with and let your subconscious work through it.  Also note 1-2 things that you’re grateful for.
  • While you’re starting to fall asleep use a couple of minutes in meditation or prayer, a quiet time of mindfulness to rest your brain.

What Should Your Morning Look Like to Start it Off Right?

  • For the first 45 minutes: no emails, no phone, no screens. Have you time.
  • Do 15-20 minutes of exercise.
  • Have 5 minutes of meditation or prayer.
  • Read enriching material for 10 minutes.
  • Set the right mood with classical music.

Try this for just 2 weeks and see if it makes difference!
