EPISODE 269 With the start of the New Year we get excited about what we would like to accomplish, but this year it might be good to look at setting goals in a different way. Instead of thinking about all the goals you want to accomplish, think about the person you would like to be at the end of 2019.
CONTENT WE LEARN IN THIS EPISODE
Who you are is internal, while what you are is external. These are two very different things, but unfortunately, we usually focus on the latter. Rather than focusing on what you want to accomplish in 2019, focus on who you want to be. Do you want to be a better spouse, significant other, friend, parent, neighbor? Do you want to make a difference in someone else’s life? When individuals are asked what they most focus on after the age of sixty they say attributes that help them become good human beings. Rarely is a new car, boat or house mentioned as a focus, instead of more time with friends and family, being kinder and willing to help others topped the list.
QUOTES BY CHRIS
“In the study of habits, it has been found that the perception you have of yourself, who you believe you are as a person, helps you break bad habits.”
